After I launched my first link bidding directory, it only took a few short weeks (4-6 weeks) for my link bid directory to reach PageRank 4 and just a few days (1-2) to start getting paid bids.
To get your link bid directory off the ground and start making revenue (not always profit to start) you will need a marketing budget. In my case I set a $1500.00 budget (that is just what I went with), you can start with whatever you want. The smartest thing to do as far as marketing goes is to get at least a top 10 placement on other link bid directories. People who advertise with them, will see you, and usually bid on your site as well.
If you can afford it, try to be link leader. It is worth it! Also, try to add your site to link bid sites that have a high PageRank, this will help your website gain PR faster.
Tip: Unless you have deep pockets do not get in to a bidding war with Casinos that are listed, they appear to have a lot of marketing dollars available for link bidding. They will almost always outbid you.
If you decide to launch a link bid site you can find a lot of new link bidders (customers) by posting in forums, just make sure you do not spam the forum and follow all forum rules.
