How To Spot Fake PageRank

Many webmasters “buy” PR for their website. They find a site that has a PR of 8 for example and buy a link to their site. After a while, your site ends up with a high(er) PR and you in turn can sell PR or the site in whole; provided the site you are buying from does not have Fake PR.

Buying PR

Buying PR is not something that most recommend, but it does work; just make sure the site you’re buying from does not Fake PR.

Here is how websites Fake PR, I’ll explain how to detect Fake PR also. Some of you may not like me making this information public, but trust me, the people who use or want to use this technique are well aware of it, or can find it very easy, just as I have.

Faking Pagerank

Sites fake PR by looking for the Googlebot, then redirecting it to a high PageRand site, like Yahoo.com. Google sees that users actually land on Yahoo.com and the PR Bar in turn reflects the PR of the Yahoo.com rather than your site or the site you are visiting.

How To Detect Fake Pagerank

To detect Fake PagerRank, all you must do is type in the webpage like: www.ASiteWithFakePR.com into Google’s search and take look at the cache. The cache will match the site with Fake PR; it will be the site with the real (High) PageRank.

So, if you’re buying PageRank or links in an effort to raise your PageRank, be very careful and check it for yourself using Google and the Google cache checking method. There are also many websites that have Fake PageRank Checker that you can use.
