Recently I emailed Gabriel Harper the web developer and brain behind the popular phpLinkBid script. My email to Gabriel include a few questions for the developer that I thought would be welcomed by the readers of this site, and that I was curious about. Below is what we came up with. Enjoy!
1. Your name?
Gabriel Harper
Yes
Q4 2006 - Q1 2007
Several thousand.
Currently ten.
A lot! Version 1.6 is around the corner and there are too many great features to list here.
Remember that where and how you are marketing will never be as important as what you are marketing. Also don’t forget the power of new directories and forums for affordable marketing opportunities when you’re “bootstrapping” it.
10. What was your first project?
My first project incorporating HTML was a personal site called “dPhierce” if I remember correctly - which was one of my old aliases. My first programming project was in GW-BASIC on a 2MHz CompuAdd 8086. Then it was on to cheesy games in C++ and running a BBS called “The Bowels of Hell”. Then the Internet happened!
11. What, if any new projects are you working on now?
Primarily phpLinkBid 1.6 and some new stuff on Scriptalicious. A couple big projects in the works that I can’t say much about, but they will be well worth the wait!
Not like we see them now. Surely there will be a few people still running v1.2 and wondering why they never get any bids… but phpLinkBid will evolve along with the rest of the Web and 3-5 years is bound to bring a lot of amazing stuff to the table. We actually have quite a roadmap that extends farther than just 1-2 years, and phpLinkBid will evolve into much more than we see today. It should be a great ride!

I cannot wait for this update. Nice interview. Gabe is certainly a pleasure to talk to.
We’ve got multiple directories using Gabriel’s phpLinkBid software. We’ve been happy with the product and the forum is very active filled with knowlegable users, therefore one can troubleshoot in a amicable environment.
My partner and I are glad Gabriel is still dedicated to keeping his product updated. That’s very encouraging (applause).
